Jobs generated by the automotive harness industry<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=\u00bb30″][vc_column_text]The automotive industry in Honduras is made up of a small number of large companies that have established their complex operations thanks to the benefits offered by the country like tax benefits, rules of origin and access, proximity to the market they serve etc, to a climate of integral investment. An important aspect that stands out is the ability to make operations simple and expeditious, especially those related to customs procedures and training of the human resources.<\/p>\n

These companies dedicated to the production of harnesses (parts and automotive components), have started a transition into producing different types of wiring, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) for the control of various automated functions in vehicles.<\/p>\n

As a manufacturer and supplier of established harnesses, Honduras seeks to move on to the next stage, a segments of higher added value, manufacturing or assembly of more sophisticated automotive components. In order to achieve this, the integration of the value chain is a priority factor, which is why suppliers of harness manufacturers (and other automotive parts and components) are looking into Honduras to establish their offshore operations.<\/p>\n

The Honduran Manufactures Association has five affiliated companies dedicated to the production of harnesses, which are suppliers (Tier 2) of components for assembly to most vehicle brands in the world such as Ford, General Motors, FCA , Kia, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Nissan, Subaru, BMW, Tesla, Tata and Audi, among others. Combined these companies generate around 13,000 jobs and by 2018 this number will increase due to the planned expansion of their operations.<\/p>\n
